How did I end up with two or more LinkedIn accounts?
There are many ways it can happen: Perhaps you created an account using a nickname and can’t find it when searching on your given name. Or after not using LinkedIn for a while, you can’t recall your login password and figured it was quicker to create a new account. Maybe you don’t remember creating an account and ended up creating a second (or third!) one without realizing that you already had a LinkedIn profile. Whatever caused the situation, removing duplicate accounts is a problem that can be solved in a few quick steps.

I really like your “how to” posts. I used one about facebook that you posted a few months ago. The extra Linkedin profile was an annoyance that I was not getting around to fixing, and your post gave me the motivation to JUST DO IT. thank you!
Joyce and Ken,
Thank you for taking the time to comment. As a small business owner, I can relate to giant “to-do” lists! Our goal with the “How To” posts is to make it easy to take care of some of those important items that you just haven’t been able to tackle yet. – Nancy
I can’t tell you know long I have had two profiles on linked in — and it took me less than 10 minutes to finally get rid of the extra one. thank you! I also really appreciate the extra tip you provided about being sure to check out connections on the profile you are deleting so they don’t get lost. Very helpful.
